TomoKruithof vs Tomogravity for Backbone Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
A traffic matrix is required to design, plan, and manage a telecommunications network. A great deal of work has been carried out to infer such a matrix from link load measurements. Of these, the Tomogravity method has shown some promise. However, in this paper it will be demonstrated that, in many realistic cases, it is possible to obtain even better results using a new method that will be referred to as TomoKruithof. This new method overcomes well-known row and column sum consistency problems with traditional gravity models published in the literature.

Quasi Random Deployment Strategy for Reliable Communication Backbones in Wireless Sensor Networks
Topology construction and topology maintenance are significant sub-problems of topology control. Spanning tree based algorithms for topology control are basically transmission range based type construction algorithms. The construction of an effective backbone, however, is indirectly related to the placement of nodes. Also, the dependence of network reliability on the communication path undertak...
متن کاملA New Approach of Backbone Topology Design Used by Combination of GA and PSO Algorithms
A number of algorithms based on the evolutionary processing have been proposed forcommunication networks backbone such as Genetic Algorithm (GA). However, there has beenlittle work on the SWARM optimization algorithms such as Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) for backbone topology design. In this paper, the performance of PSO on GA isdiscussed and a new algorithm as PSOGA is proposed for the net...
متن کاملTraffic matrix estimation: Advanced-Tomogravity method based on a precise gravity model
Traffic matrix (TM) is extremely important in many networking operations. This paper proposes a novel approach of TM estimation in large-scale IP networks, termed as Advanced-Tomogravity method, which is based on a precise gravity model and the tomography method. First, the precise gravity model is proposed on the basis of the existing generalized gravity model by introducing a relativity facto...
متن کاملEnergy Efficient Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks by Using Honey Bee Mating Optimization
Mobile Ad hoc networks (MANETs) are composed of mobile stations communicating through wireless links, without any fixed backbone support. In these networks, limited power energy supply, and frequent topology changes caused by node mobility, makes their routing a challenging problem. TORA is one of the routing protocols that successfully copes with the nodes’ mobility side effects, but it do...
متن کاملAn Analysis of the Japanese Credit Network
An analysis of the Japanese credit market in 2004 between banks and quoted firms is done in this paper using the tools of the networks theory. It can be pointed out that: (i) a backbone of the credit channel emerges, where some links play a crucial role; (ii) big banks privilege long-term contracts; the “minimal spanning trees” (iii) disclose a highly hierarchical backbone, where the central po...
